1. Who we are

Crotcheting is a shop selling digital crochet patterns, operated by Crotcheting LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States.

You can reach us at infos@crotcheting.com. We answer messages ourselves, usually within one working day.

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Crotcheting LLC. "You" means the person buying or using our patterns.

By placing an order or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't buy from us.

2. What you are buying

Everything in our shop is a digital product: a written crochet pattern, supplied as a PDF file that you download.

You are not buying a finished item, a kit, yarn, or any physical goods. Nothing will be posted to you. The photographs in our listings show finished items made from the pattern, to help you see what you'd be making — they are not the product itself.

Each pattern includes the full round-by-round instructions, photographs of the construction, a materials list, and finished measurements. Unless a listing says otherwise, patterns are supplied in English, French, Spanish and German, and are written using US crochet terminology.

Finished sizes stated in our listings are approximate. Your own tension, hook and yarn will change the result, and that is normal.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and include any taxes we are required to charge.

Payment is taken at checkout through our payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.

We may change our prices, run discounts, or end promotions at any time. The price you pay is the price shown at the moment you complete your order.

4. Delivery of your files

Your files are made available immediately after your payment is confirmed — through a download link on your order confirmation, by email, and in your account if you have one.

Because our products are digital, there is no shipping, no delivery address, and no tracking.

You may re-download your files as many times as you like. If we later correct or improve a pattern you have bought, you get the updated version at no extra cost.

If your files do not arrive, will not open, or are incomplete, contact us and we will fix it.

5. What you may do with your pattern

When you buy a pattern, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. We keep ownership of the pattern itself.

You may:

  • Make the item as many times as you like, for yourself or as gifts.
  • Sell the finished items you make — online, at markets, in shops, anywhere. You do not need our permission and you do not owe us anything.
  • Credit us as the pattern designer if you'd like to. It's appreciated but never required.
  • Print the pattern for your own use, and keep your own backup copy.

You may not:

  • Share, send, gift, resell, sublicense or publish the pattern file itself, in whole or in part.
  • Upload the pattern anywhere others can access it, including file-sharing sites, cloud folders, group chats, or social media.
  • Copy, translate, rewrite or adapt the pattern text and pass it off as your own, or sell it as your own pattern.
  • Reproduce our photographs, illustrations or written instructions in your own listings, tutorials, videos or printed material.
  • Use the pattern to produce items through mass or factory manufacturing.

The short version: the things you make are yours, and the file stays with you.

6. Refunds and cancellation

Because a digital file cannot be returned once it has been downloaded, we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges on patterns as a matter of course. This is standard for digital products, and it's why we try to describe our patterns and their difficulty honestly before you buy.

We will always put things right where the problem is ours. Contact us and we will repair the file or refund you if:

  • your file will not open or download;
  • the file is incomplete, corrupted, or missing pages or languages;
  • you received a different pattern from the one you ordered; or
  • the pattern contains an error we cannot correct.

Please tell us within a reasonable time and give us the chance to fix it before asking for a refund — most problems take us minutes to sort out.

If you are in the EU or the UK. Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content, that right does not apply once delivery has begun, provided you have given your express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal. By completing your order and downloading your files, you ask us to supply the content immediately and you accept that you lose your right to withdraw once the download has started.

7. Mistakes in our patterns

We test our patterns, but we are a small shop and errors do get through.

If you find one, please tell us. We will check it, correct the file, upload the corrected version, and let other buyers of that pattern know. You will always have access to the latest version of anything you've bought.

We can't guarantee that any pattern is completely free of errors, and we can't guarantee your finished item will look identical to our photographs — yarn, tension, stuffing and hook size all change the outcome.

8. Your account

You don't need an account to buy from us, but having one keeps your downloads in one place.

You're responsible for keeping your login details private and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, particularly where patterns are being shared or resold.

9. Acceptable use of this website

Please don't attempt to interfere with the site, gain unauthorised access to any part of it, scrape or copy it systematically, or use it for anything unlawful.

10. Our content

The patterns, photographs, illustrations, written copy and design of this website belong to us or are used with permission. The name Crotcheting and our logo are our marks.

Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of that to you.

11. Third-party services

Our shop runs on Shopify, and we use third-party services for payments, file delivery and email. Those providers have their own terms and privacy practices, and we're not responsible for how they operate their own services.

12. Availability and changes

We try to keep the shop available, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may add, change, or withdraw patterns at any time. If a pattern is withdrawn, you keep access to anything you already bought.

13. Our liability

We provide our patterns with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses;
  • loss of profit, income, or wasted materials;
  • your inability to complete a project; or
  • anything arising from your use of a pattern beyond the licence above.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the pattern concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, or any rights you have as a consumer under the law of your own country that cannot be excluded by agreement.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of that state.

If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The date at the top tells you when we last changed anything.
