Crochet Candle Pattern — The Glow Gang

Three little pillar candles in soft chenille, each with a chubby gold flame, melty wax drips over the rim and a shy kawaii face low on the front. Meet Ember in pumpkin at 8 cm, Wisp in plum at 12 cm, and Flicker in cream at 16 cm — the tallest gets a grey smoke wisp curling up above her flame. Warm, cosy, autumn on a mantelpiece. ✨

This is one of our simplest patterns. One construction covers all three candles — same 36-stitch width every time, you just hold more or fewer rounds for the height you want. Magic ring, single crochet, increases, decreases, chain and slip stitch. Nothing else.

Each body is a single continuous spiral worked top-down: flat top disc, straight walls, base decreased closed. No joins, no seams. The wax drips are surface-crocheted straight onto the rim, so they need no sewing at all. The flame sews to the top and the smoke wisp is tacked behind it — two pieces to attach per candle, one if you skip the smoke.
