Tori is a sage green triceratops with a wide scalloped frill edged in cream, two little brow horns and a rounder horn on her nose. She sits at 18 cm, her frill spreading about 12 cm across, with pink satin-stitch cheeks and soft cream toe bumps. ✨

She looks intricate and she really isn't. You need a magic ring, increases, invisible decreases, half double crochet and slip stitch — plus one surface bobble that we explain from the very first loop. The frill's nine lobes come from a single edging round, worked slowly. We open with a gauge swatch and the five mistakes worth avoiding, so nothing surprises you halfway through.

Eight pieces are worked separately in continuous spirals. Both front legs and the tail are crocheted straight into the body as it grows, so they never need sewing at all — the head, frill, hind legs and three horns are sewn on afterwards, seven pieces in total.

Your download includes the pattern in English, in US crochet terms, with the materials list, gauge, finished measurements and a full troubleshooting section.
