Wanda is a plump, squat little pumpkin in six panels — burnt orange, slate grey and sage green — with a shy V-shaped smile, blushed cheeks and a tiny black witch hat with a purple band perched at a tilt against her stem. Around 14 cm tall and 14–15 cm wide, so she's wider than she is tall, the way a good pumpkin should be. ✨
The stitches are all easy ones: single crochet, increases, invisible decreases. The panels are worked flat in rows, ten stitches at their widest, so there's very little to keep track of. The one real skill is seaming the six panels together — and the pattern gives you a no-sew alternative if you'd rather crochet them together instead.
Six pointed-oval panels are whipstitched side by side into a sphere, and the seams themselves become the pumpkin's ribs — that's why she looks properly ribbed rather than smooth. Then the stem is sewn over the top, and the hat simply perches, removable, no sewing at all. So: six panel seams plus one stem.
Your download is a PDF in English, French, Spanish and German, in US crochet terms, with the panel colour map, full materials list, gauge, row-by-row counts, assembly, finishing, safety notes and troubleshooting.
Pull the seams snug and the ribs appear on their own. 💗
