Hollis is a soft, quiet little figure in pumpkin orange and oatmeal linen, with a gathered sack top on his crown, three small cord ties flopping outward, and brown stitch marks worked across his head and chest like careful mending. His cheeks are chalked pink and his mouth is a shallow curve 💗

He's beginner-friendly the whole way through. Single crochet, a handful of half doubles for the sack rim, increases and decreases — that's all. Each piece ends with a checkpoint telling you the round count and the numbers that must match up before you sew, so the fit is never a guess.

He's worked in continuous spiral rounds on a 4.0 mm hook in chenille bulky. The head is 8 rounds, the body 9, and the two are joined stitch to stitch at matching 12-stitch rounds. Arms and legs start at the beige hand or foot and change colour mid-piece. Ten pieces are sewn on, in a printed order, with the centre front marked first so everything lines up.

The download gives you the pattern in English, US crochet terms, a full materials list, gauge, finishing embroidery and troubleshooting — including a scarecrow colour variant. Finished size is 14 cm seated.
