Maple is a warm orange fox with white cheek puffs, black ear tips and paws, a rust band across her middle and a bushy white-tipped tail. She holds a small mustard maple leaf with embroidered veins — properly autumnal, and lovely in soft chenille 🧶
She is beginner-friendly and remarkably low-sew. The head and body are worked top-down as one continuous piece, and the arms, tail and feet are all crochet-joined straight into body rounds, so the whole body assembles itself as you go. Only the face and front details are sewn at the end — the two ears, the white inner-ear discs, the two cheek puffs, the little black nose and the belly patch. The eyes go in through the cheek puffs, which is what gives her that soft muzzle shape.
Your download is a clearly written PDF in English, in US crochet terms, with the full materials list, a body stripe overview, stitch abbreviations, assembly order, finishing notes and troubleshooting tips. Finished size is 14 cm / 5.5 in tall on a 4.0 mm hook.
Make the small pieces first, then settle in — the body comes together beautifully ✨
