Ziggy is a soft white zebra with crisp black stripes wrapping his back and sides, a grey muzzle, black-tipped ears and a shaggy black-and-white mane running from his forelock down his back. There is a tiny green succulent to tuck between his front paws too. In chenille yarn the stripes go plush and painterly 🧶
If you have worked a colour change before, you can make this. The head and body are one continuous piece worked top-down, and the front stays solid white all the way — the six stripes are partial rounds that only wrap the back and sides, so you are never juggling colours across the face or belly. The arms are crochet-joined during a body round. The ears, muzzle and legs are sewn on at the end, and the tail and mane are simply strands knotted onto the surface.
Your download is a clearly written PDF in English, in US crochet terms, with the full materials list, a stripe overview, stitch abbreviations, assembly order, finishing notes and troubleshooting tips for carrying yarn. Finished size is 14 cm tall on a 4.0 mm hook.
We have written every stripe round out in full, so you can just follow along ✨
