Pip is a plump little pumpkin with a face and a handle — a soft chenille basket for a candy haul, a windowsill, or a shelf all autumn long. Orange ribbed segments, a cream panel across the front with a shy embroidered smile and blushed cheeks, a stubby brown stem, a curling sage tendril and a felt maple leaf tucked in beside it. About 14 cm tall, 17 cm wide, with a 10 cm opening. 🧶
The stitches are simple ones — magic ring, single crochet, increases, invisible decreases. The new skill here is holding two colours in one round to carry the cream face panel up the front, and the pattern walks you through it stitch by stitch. There's a simpler version in the troubleshooting notes if you'd rather skip the lining.
The whole pot is one continuous spiral, worked bottom-up, then folded inward at the rim and continued downward as a cream lining — no side seam, no joining. Only the cavity between the two walls gets stuffed. The stem, tendril, handle and leaf are sewn on afterwards, so that's four pieces to attach.
Your download is a PDF in English, French, Spanish and German, in US crochet terms, with the full materials list, gauge, round-by-round counts, surface-crochet rib instructions, assembly, finishing, safety notes and troubleshooting.
The fold at the rim is the only tricky moment — and we've written it out twice. 💗
