Say hello to Bandit — a round-cheeked baby raccoon with a dark bandit mask, pale brows and a chunky ringed tail. He sits about 18 cm (7.1 in) tall from his base to his ear tips, with a soft cream belly, little cream paw pads and glossy 8 mm safety eyes.

Every round is written out in full, in US crochet terms, with progress photos for the pieces as you go. You'll work in a continuous spiral using single crochet, increases and invisible decreases — nothing beyond that. The mask, the belly and the tail rings come from simple colour changes worked stitch by stitch, so go slowly through those rounds and you'll be absolutely fine.

The head and body grow together as one continuous piece — 48 rounds, no seam through the middle. That leaves eleven small parts to sew on: the muzzle, the nose, two ears, two arms, two legs, the tail, and two little chain strands that highlight the eyes.

Your download is a PDF in English, French, Spanish and German, with a full materials list, hook and safety eye sizes, stitch abbreviations, finished measurements and photos of each piece.

Take it one round at a time — we've written it to be easy to follow, and Bandit will be waiting for you at the end. 💗
