Crochet Tombstone Pattern — Boo

Boo is a soft grey tombstone with a very sweet face — arched crown, straight sides, a little flared foot at the bottom, "BOO" chain-stitched across the front in cream, and a tiny pink and purple flower resting on the brim. Dusty periwinkle-grey chenille, blushed cheeks, a shallow smile. Spooky-adjacent at most. ✨

It's a calm make. One colour the whole way through, no colour changes to track, and the stitches are just single crochet, increases and invisible decreases. At about 23 cm tall he's one of our bigger pieces, so most of your time goes into the straight walls — 22 rounds of plain single crochet, lovely evening crochet. The whole body is one continuous top-down piece: an oval crown started from a chain, straight walls, then a back-loop round that makes the base flare into a little foot, and finally the base decreased closed. No joins, no seams. Only the flower is sewn on — one piece — and the face and lettering are embroidered at the end.
