Twelve little Halloween squares, each one a tiny scene — a gold crescent on a black night sky, a purple witch hat with a pumpkin at its feet, candy corn, a broom, a bone, a mummy, a poison apple, a full moon. Autumn colours, cotton, crisp edges. They look wonderful lined up together. ✨
This one is very gentle on the hands. Each square measures 7 × 7 cm, so nothing takes long, and you only need a magic ring, dc, sc, increase, decrease and whipstitch — no colourwork carried across a round, no shaping in the round. Start with the full moon square: it's the simplest, and it sets your gauge for the other eleven.
Every square is a flat base worked in joined rounds from a magic ring — either solid dc or classic granny clusters — finished with a contrast frame. The Halloween motif is made separately and sewn to the centre. Ten motifs are crochet; the tombstone and cauldron are cut from felt. There's plenty of small appliqué sewing here, so it's a lovely evening project rather than a no-sew one.
Your download is a PDF in English, in US crochet terms, with a reference photo for every square, the full materials and colour list, gauge notes, blocking and finishing, safety notes and troubleshooting.
Twelve small wins, one at a time. 💗
