Seamus is a small, cheerful sackcloth monster in oatmeal cream, with a drooping hood that flops forward on its own. Charcoal grey cross-stitch seams run across his belly, his arms and his hood, as though he has been patched together and gently mended, and a little sage green patch sits just off centre on his front. Add pink cheeks and a soft embroidered smile and he is done. Finished, he stands about 14 cm tall and 8.5 cm across the belly 🧶

He is beginner-friendly throughout — magic ring, single crochet, increase, invisible decrease, chain, slip stitch, and simple surface embroidery at the end.

He is worked bottom-up in one continuous piece: two stub feet joined with a chain bridge, a belly that widens above them, and a head that tapers straight up with no neck. The arms are crochet-joined during a body round, so only two pieces are sewn on at all — the hood tip and the green patch.

Your download includes the full pattern in English, in US crochet terms, with materials, gauge, the seam map, assembly, troubleshooting and safety notes.

The wobbly seams are meant to wobble — nothing here has to be perfect 💗
