A soft white ghost in a little black witch hat — that's Whimsy Boo. The hat has a bright orange stripe around the base and a brim you can tilt to one side. Below the face, the body flares into a wavy scalloped hem, made with tiny slip-stitch-and-chain loops that give it that drifting, ghosty edge. Big safety eyes, a stitched smile, and optional pink cheeks in yarn or felt.
This is about as gentle a start as amigurumi gets. Single crochet, increases, decreases — that's the whole stitch list, plus back loops only for the hat brim and the wavy edge. Every round is numbered with its stitch count.
The body is one continuous piece, rounds 1 through 19, with the wavy hem worked straight onto the bottom. The hat is worked separately and simply popped on — stitch it down or leave it removable, your choice. The two tiny arms are optional, four stitches each, attached with a couple of stitches. Leave them off entirely for an even simpler ghost.
