Pumpkin Coaster Crochet Pattern – Nella

Nella is a softly scalloped pumpkin coaster with a brown stem leaning off to one side, a sage leaf standing away from the rim, and a corkscrew tendril left completely free. The set shown is worked in pumpkin orange, rust, cream and sage — and just one coaster in the set gets a face, with a wide open smile, small pink blush ovals and a low, sleepy placement. 🧶

If you can work a flat circle and a chain, you can make this. That's the whole skill list. Everything is single crochet with a little hdc and dc in the leaf, worked in continuous spiral rounds with a stitch count at the end of every one.

Each coaster is two identical flat discs, joined with one round of single crochet through both layers to make a neat piped rim. No stuffing in the discs at all — the two layers give their own thickness. Then five small pieces get tacked on: two curled rib cords that pull the circle into a pumpkin outline, the stem, the leaf and the tendril.
